This week, the HVAC World Student Competition was held in South Korea, hosted by SAREK. The Europe representative, Joao Mota, winner of the REHVA Student Competition, was the lucky winner of the competition!

See here Joao Mota receiving his prize from SAREK President, Dr JY Choi.

After his victory at the Ordem Dos Engenheiros National Competition, followed by a great success at the REHVA Student Competition, Joao won the HVAC World Competition by presenting a paper focusing on "Acoustic Assessment of a Novel Visor Concept with Aerodynamic Sealing for Medical Protection".

This is the third year in a row that a REHVA Student Competition winner has won the HVAC World Competition!

Initiated by REHVA, the HVAC World Student Competition was organised for the first time during the 12th CLIMA World Congress in 2016 in Aalborg, Denmark, in cooperation with ASHRAE, CAHVAC, FAIAR, ISHRAE, SAREK and SHASE. Each MoU has the right to pick a student to represent their Association in the competition.

This year, five students participated in the competition!

Junhyeok Jang and Hyejun You – SAREK/Korea, arrived second. Yashu Zhao – CAHVAC/China secured the third place, and Tatsuya Miyata – SHASE/Japan won the prize for  best poster. ASHRAE representatives, Ahmad Faiz Khan and Amanda Webb arrived fifth.

Congratulations to all!
