CLIMA 2022: Health & Comfort

The achievement of health and comfort of people in the built environment, whether at home, at work, at school, or enjoying free time, is a complex subject that involves physics, behaviour, physiology, energy conservation, climate change, architecture, engineering and technology.

CLIMA 2022 challenges advances in intelligent interfaces and interaction between building, indoor climate systems and humans and welcomes contributions seeking to new approaches to health & comfort in relation to low-energy buildings and energy-efficient retrofit.

Halton, the theme sponsor

Due to the pandemic, healthy and safe indoor environment is today more important than ever. CLIMA Conference series have during decades brought world-leading research and newest technological innovations together”, says Mika Halttunen, Chairman of the Board of Halton Group.

We are thrilled to see REHVA Supporters getting involved with the CLIMA Congress, with Halton team and the rest of the sponsors we will make this congress a great success.

Keynote speakers

We are excited to present an amazing line up of the keynotes for the Health & Comfort theme!

On Monday, Lidia Morawska, director of the International Laboratory for Air Quality and Health at QUT, will cover the airborne route transmission of the Coronavirus and the importance of ventilation in the issue at hand. Additionally, Arsen Melikov is professor at the International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy and will discuss focus on occupants, energy and airborne cross-infection. Ben van Berkel, Dutch architect; the founder and principal Architect of the international architecture firm UNStudio and UNSense, will discuss sustainable architecture and design.

Find out who are all the keynote speakers HERE.

CLIMA Workshops
COVID-19 implications on ventilation criteria and design
COVID-19 implications on ventilation criteria and design

Be a part of the discussion on how new evidence on aerosol transmission should affect ventilation design methods/criteria and propose directions how to develop input to the revision of the standard.

7 Essentials of Healthy Indoor Air
7 Essentials of Healthy Indoor Air

Belimo interviewed consulting engineers and experts in the ventilation sector around the world to identify the priorities when aspiring to create a healthy indoor air environment in a building. In the process, 7 essential factors for ensuring healthy indoor air in non-residential buildings have emerged. Come and find out what are those factors!

Advanced airflow distribution methods for reduction of cross infection and exposure to indoor pollution
Advanced airflow distribution methods for reduction of cross infection and exposure to indoor pollution

What are the most potential methods for Occupant Targeted Ventilation? In which applications these advanced airflow distribution methods may be applied? How to market penetration of novel air distribution methods could be facilitated? Join the conversation!

  • Organizers: Risto Kosonen, Arsen Melikov
Low relative humidity in indoor air – an important element of indoor air quality
Low relative humidity in indoor air – an important element of indoor air quality

Relative humidity seems to play much more important role in the context of IAQ and should be discussed on its own and consequently the methods allowing its control in the buildings. This workshop initiates debate on the importance of low relative humidity and which levels should create actionable decisions. Make sure to be there!

  • Date: Tuesday, 24 May
  • Time: 14:15-15:45
  • Organizers: SWEGON
